After eight years of planning, Greenville Garden City, a new town on 767ha of land at Fisantekraal near Durbanville, to eventually accommodate over 16 000 homes, schools, community facilities, public spaces and transport infrastructure, has been launched. Read more.
Pinehurst, flagship of Garden Cities’ Northern areas, is well past the tipping point on its way to completion, with only 1 162 homes still to be built of the just over 2 662 that were planned when it was launched 14 years ago in sight of the Durbanville Hills and the Simonsberg. Sunningdale’s status as a major West Coast suburb has received another boost with the proposed new regional shopping centre on the intersection of Berkshire Boulevard and the West Coast Road. The centre, with a first Phase gross lettable area (GLA) of 62 500 m2 is on a 20ha site that was sold by Garden Cities to Zenprop, who will develop it. Read more.
