Rallim school’s first matrics set a high bar with 100% class pass in NSC 2025 final exams

The entire  Grade XII class  at Rallim  Modern Learning Environment in Sunningdale celebrated the school’s first National Senior Certificate (NSC) Matric exams by achieving a 100% pass rate.

Of the 22 learners who sat for the 2025 exams, three  scored six As, and two of them five As each – with 91% of the class achieving a Bachelor’s pass.

Rallim’s elated Principal, Bhavisha Ukabhai said she could not be more proud of the school’s  pioneer Matrics, most of whom had come up through the school’s preparatory and high school, since its establishment in 2019. The school is a collaboration with Garden Cities (NPC) RF, the 107-year old development company, which is the 80 % majority shareholder.

Styled as a unique Modern Learning Environment (MLE), Rallim set out to redesign an education methodology for the  future, while working alongside the national curriculum.

Ms Ukabhai said that the Matrics had  experienced the redesigned teaching methods for the majority of their earlier grades, and in their final year had concentrated on the requirements of the national education authority.  Rallim’s methodology moves beyond traditional models to offer interdisciplinary, interest-driven learning through coding, robotics, AR/VR, and a holistic approach, preparing students for unknown future careers.

She believes that the new methodologies are highly beneficial to the learners in their academic achievements, along with the three-pronged approach to the education process that include an excellent teaching team, an involved parent body and highly motivated learners.

John Matthews, Group CEO of Garden Cities, who continues to take a key role in the school since his  close involvement in its establishment, congratulated the Matrics on their excellent performance, saying: “Garden Cities views the furthering of education as one of its primary objectives, and Rallim stands among our highly prized projects.”

The company’s Foundation, the Archway, has dedicated its work to the building of school halls, of which 133 have been completed together with the WCED,  for previously under-resourced schools, as well as Science Learning Centres, together with Professor Shaheed Hartley’s Advancing Knowledge NPC.

The foundation also provides scholarships to assist students with their tertiary education.
