Babbler Link Park at Northridge Coastal Estate

The second park at Northridge Coastal Estate in Sunningdale,  has been completed.

Designed to incorporate elements of marine life, the park boasts a magnificent wooden jungle gym sailing ship and an adjacent lookout tower.

From the ship’s deck, visitors can take in 360 degrees views of Table Mountain, Blaauwberg Nature Conservation Area, Robben Island and Durbanville Hills. A smaller rowboat has also been provided for the enjoyment of the little ones.

The park is planted with local indigenous flora and the landscaping includes abundant trees to mitigate the heat island effect. The plants are irrigated with treated effluent water to take strain off potable water usage and to promoting water conservation.  The Table View area has spectacular marine life and includes Cape fur seals, Southern Right whales (along the coast between Milnerton Lagoon and Melkbosstrand), Humpback whales, dusky dolphins, and the diminutive Heaviside’s Dolphin which is endemic to the west coast.
